Brian is as passionate about country and ranch real estate as he is knowledgeable. He holds degrees in Earth Sciences and in Business Administration from the University of North Texas. He has been selling Ranch and Country Properties for over 40 years. Brian is known to give back to his industry and to share his interests with others. The Smith’s ranch won the Lone Star Land Steward Award in 2011. This award is given by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Association for wildlife habitat enhancement of which Brian oversees at their ranch, “Trinity Bluff Wildlife Ranch”. The Smith’s also share their love of the outdoors with school children of all ages through the L.A.N.D.S. courses (Learning Across New Dimensions in Science) in cooperation with the Texas Wildlife Association. Ranch and country properties have the ability to excite the senses, “The sights, the sounds, the wildlife in their natural habitat are all exhilarating.” What Brian loves the most about this category of real estate is seeing that excitement of the senses come to life by helping buyers and sellers realize what they can do with their land and how to optimize their resources.
In 1992, Brian was President of the State of Texas’ Realtor’s Land Institute. He currently is serving on the National Association of REALTORS Land Use Committee (protecting private property rights), and is the NAR Presidential Liaison to Argentina. Brian has served as an expert witness for court cases involving mineral rights. At the Texas Association of REALTORS, Brian has also worked with a task force to re-write the mineral reservation addendum.
